My husband and I achieved our most amusing feat of teamwork parenting yet.
We went away this past weekend to visit friends. Going away when you don't own a car is a feat in of itself.
We could only pack so much, load up the stroller so well, and needed to be prepared to entertain our toddler (and hold our baby) for the two hours or so of on and off public transportation.
The most amazing thing though, aside from seeing our friends, happened on the way home.
We did it! Not one tired moody pout from anyone!

- We put the kids to sleep at bedtime, in our host's home.
- We enjoyed our last two hours with ADULT company.
- My husband singlehandedly figured out our bus back and packed up our belongings (go him!)
- I pushed the reclined sleeping little guy, he pulled the suitcase with a snuggly pajamaed two year old over his shoulder. She miraculously stayed asleep.
- We arrived at our first (inner city) bus stop. I picked up the sleeping baby, he put down the sleeping toddler. She promptly rolled onto her tummy and continued enjoying her uninterrupted sleep.
- Arrived at the Central Station for our intercity bus. He pulled the suitcase and pushed the stroller while I carried the baby.
- I boarded the bus, holding the baby. He left the suitcase and stroller, picked up our daughter and boarded with me. Her head went into my lap, her legs on the neighboring seat. I continued holding the baby, and the toddler too!
- He backed off the bus, folded the stroller, stowed it and the suitcase. Reboarded, stood next to my seats.
- Still sleeping. Both of them. All the way home. We couldn't stop laughing.
- Ahhhh…
