So Who's the Painter?
The painter is a parable, inspired by a class (on painting, for lawyers) offered in the Bar Association where we live.
Each of us needs enrichment—a fresh color palate separate from our day to day living. The lawyer who brokers business contracts, the teacher who lectures in grade school, the parents, children, and even professional artists need it. The chance to widen our eyes, stop running forward on the treadmill and look around.
For some, this means a night out, or out of town. For others, this means a hiking trip to Croatia, a book on the beach or a pottery class. For me, my “paint” is the chance to write; to take account of how I’m doing, how I’m taking in the world around me and using it to grow, change and inspire others.
So here’s my artwork. I’m taking my water colors, oil paints, and yes, even finger paint and food colored shaving cream to canvas and showing you the view from my living room window—the regular world I see every day, interpreted into the majestic museum piece that it truly is.
This is not meant to be a poetry, non fiction or fiction blog. These are my ideas, impressions, and observations penned into words so I can share them with you. These are my thoughts on my experiences. I've tried to translate them into something for public view, as an outlet for myself. Some posts fit into some of these categories, and, I hope, some will be more difficult to define.
I'm hopeful that they will provide a thought provoking experience for you.
