I was under the impression that, at a young age, I needed to pick my life's direction.
Specifically my career. Pick it, and stick with it.
Well, now I think the opposite, and I'll share with you why.
Life changes.
I once lived in North America, in the city dreaming of suburbia, one day.
She was once supporting her husband.
She (a different she) dreamed of a household of twelve.
She (a third) so culturally belongs here, but is working there.
He hated school.
She loved it, and wanted to invest in it.
He loved it here.
Her family needed her there.
So instead of thinking WHAT you want to do, try to think about who you want to do it with. Everything else is subject to change.
You focus on your "me" time, and there may be no me left in the end of it. After all, "me" life is only so satisfying.
Us life? Them life?
Thank G-d we have it.
